So there I am! Living it up in my 30-somethings with a ridiculously hot hubby, 3 seriously outgoing matter-of-fact smart beautiful kids, a cat named Roxii that just won't quit, 2 chihuahuas named Lokii (what was I thinking) and Brodii who don't understand the concept of pee outside.

I'm a strongly opinionated, outspoken, inappropriate and absolutely unapologetic chick going through this thing called life and trying to do it with my sanity intact. So far, this isn't working out so well!

Follow me as I confession myself straight to the LCBO. My rants, my way...you've been warned ;) Xo

Keto Day 5

Despite saying weigh ins would be on Sunday (in the "Keto Buddies" group I created on facebook), I have always pretty much weighed myself daily. That said I am happy my progress so far. For 4 full days on this new plan I am down 4.4lbs. They say in the beginning you lose water weight but y'know what? Loss is loss and I'm damn happy.

I have to say that had I not been off for March break I do not think I would be as off to a good start as I've been. Being home has allowed me to read labels a little more closely, interact in my group more, look up tasty recipes and try to recreate them and educate myself, and some others, on the keto side of things.

I've made the muffins, these absolutely devine bacon wrapped guacamole stuffed chicken breasts and soon some keto mini cheesecakes. I've been pleasantly surprised with the almond flour substitution for stuff so far and know it's going to be a staple in my kitchen from now on, even if I said to hell with ketogenic.

Also starting last night I started to incorporate a magnesium supplement to my daily regiment. Although people have said supplement potassium that is something not to mess around with as it could be fatally dangerous so until a doctor tells me to supplement I'm just going to make sure I choose potassium rich foods and make sure my electrolytes are in check.

I really thought this was going to be a hard change to make. Limiting the carbs, picking the kinds of net carbs I actually eat, the no sugar (or as close to no as I can get at the moment) I thought honestly was going to make me toss in the towel. Again, pleasantly surprised and I find I'm not craving they carbs and sugar anymore. Sure I have the moments where I look at my husband and kids eating french fries and think 'you monsters!' but then it passes. I know sometime in the future their eating habits will be changing to coincide more with mine.

Being healthy is important to me. I'm 39 and feeling a lot older than I am, and with this new change I can't wait to feel younger than I actually am.

Keto on my friends!!!
