The DSM Bloggess

So there I am! Living it up in my 30-somethings with a ridiculously hot hubby, 3 seriously outgoing matter-of-fact smart beautiful kids, a cat named Roxii that just won't quit, 2 chihuahuas named Lokii (what was I thinking) and Brodii who don't understand the concept of pee outside.

I'm a strongly opinionated, outspoken, inappropriate and absolutely unapologetic chick going through this thing called life and trying to do it with my sanity intact. So far, this isn't working out so well!

Follow me as I confession myself straight to the LCBO. My rants, my way...you've been warned ;) Xo

Happy New Year!

Well...2012 was quite a ride wasn't it? Now we gear up for 2013 and honestly I say bring it on!!!

This is an entirely random post. Mostly because I'm testing driving Windows 8 and a 27" monitor and it's so damn purdy! LOL

While reading the other day I realized something. I need to find another damn book club. I think I'm unwelcome in the other one which sucks balls but it is what it is. I will have to canvas some fun cool peeps on the black top next week lol. Maybe I should make flyers...bahahahaha yeah I'm so kidding on that. I have a few people in mind who made mention of wanting to join one before but there haven't been any meetings, that I was made aware of anyways, to find out what's going on.

Yipes, winter vacation is almost over for the kids. This is awesome and yet depressing at the same time. Gone will be the days of sleeping in passed 7am, it really is the end :) -- not like they were sleeping in for hours anyhow. In fact I do recall a few days of before 8am, Christmas Day was to be expected but c'mon guys, really?!?!?!

My job is going well. Just a little something something to keep me grounded, out of the house, talking to adults (ok, and the kids too) and prepping myself for next year when (drum roll please) all 3 are in school all day every single day. It's really a beautiful thing! I worked like mad for the month of December but now that it's post Christmas things are slowing down...not necessarily a bad thing either. Roger is hitting slow season too so we are home together which has its major pros and some flaws as well.

When he's off it is like Spring cleaning three fold. He cleans and purges which is totally fantastic, but the purging mostly comes from my stuff. Yes, I'm a little big of a pack rat but NO I am not a hoarder...it hasn't even come to that. Well, he'd maybe argue that point with my book collection but at least it's books...and not like 80 day old diapers or something nasty like that.

The basement has been organized and it's now just too empty for me. Need to give it some TLC with some paint and some area rugs etc and then we should be good. I want to tile the laundry room "area" and the sub pump business needs to be taken care of but in due time. We've only been here a month but it's great.

The not so great is the annoying as hell old lady that lives a few doors down. Now I understand she's just being nice and from what I've been enlightened to by other neighbours is that she's lonely and her sons don't come visit her, but there is a line that needs to be drawn at some point. Walking up my driveway when no one is home (or even when we are for that matter) to check out our garbage??? Like who does that. I'm so NOT ok with her thinking it is ok to just waltz on up my driveway like we are friends/family and start getting involved in our business all the damn time. I'm going to insist than a fence is built as soon as the ground thaws because it is just NOT ok. Even my friends message me before coming just to make sure it's ok...hell even my family does.

I know she's harmless but my kids are young and influential at this point and I don't want them getting the impression that it is ok to have random people, no matter who they are, come walking up to them and talking to them for periods of time, especially NOT ON OUR PROPERTY. Stand at the edge of the damn driveway and say hello, you do not need to come up and start having a discussion about the new toilet we installed because you happened to be there the day before going through the garbage out back to see that we had a new one installed. Then to ask if Roger could go install hers? HELL NO!!!

So I'm not going lie, I foresee a confrontation in her future with me. She knocked on the door this morning to tell me some kids killed our awesome snowman family. Thanks for the heads up but little did she know we were making bets on how soon someone was going to come along and do that. Either way we would of figured it out ourselves. She's just not welcome. Sorry but I'm done with people getting all up in my business and sharing it with the first person they see after. Neighbourhood Nanny Watch or not.

Alright, time to mess around some more with these features of Windows 8. Woot!

Play nice :)
