The DSM Bloggess

So there I am! Living it up in my 30-somethings with a ridiculously hot hubby, 3 seriously outgoing matter-of-fact smart beautiful kids, a cat named Roxii that just won't quit, 2 chihuahuas named Lokii (what was I thinking) and Brodii who don't understand the concept of pee outside.

I'm a strongly opinionated, outspoken, inappropriate and absolutely unapologetic chick going through this thing called life and trying to do it with my sanity intact. So far, this isn't working out so well!

Follow me as I confession myself straight to the LCBO. My rants, my way...you've been warned ;) Xo

Sick of Being Sick!

Anyone else have the bug of the year (or as we are calling here, the super bug) blast through their house over the last few weeks? If not then go to hell!!! ;)

My ribs are so sore for coughing, my stomach hates me right now and basically the only good thing to come out of this is I'm down 7.5lbs from it. Naturally I'm going to put it all back on over the course of this week but still.

First it started with my poor old man, yes Roger, that is you. He had pneumonia and was on his ass for weeks and still not sure that it has ever gone away but he's a champ and we love him. It moved on and decided to stop off at our youngest ones body for a bit, costing her about 2 weeks worth of school (and to find out that her teacher was off for 3 weeks at LEAST as well - so glad she's back), and then it hit my boy fairly hard and he was m.i.a from school as well for a week, hospital visit on Saturday, heavy antibiotic for lung infection was his reward, and he's home today as well because he isn't really eating yet and I figure doing the school thing and then having him sit through lunch staring at the wall wouldn't be beneficial either, so he's so going tomorrow.

Along with him I ended up sick 1 day after he got sick so for the whole week I didn't...well, more like couldn't, move from the couch. We sat, coughed, fevered, chilled, sweat, whined, rinse, repeat and all that for a solid 5 days. Was like quality time I never get with him.

Overall it was pure hell. During that time I avoided not by choice, the internet unless through my phone, but even at that I didn't even want to bother grabbing my phone, I kind of watched tv, I wanted to sleep so bad but couldn't and we saved on food costs pretty much. J was down 5-7lbs himself which when it comes to me I figure alright, but when it comes to your babes you kind of panic a little bit but it's irritating me that it is taking so long to get him to eat more than a spoonful of anything.

Not to mention I'm uber tired, moody, cranky...err wait, I'm generally like that, but mostly because I can't stand stupid people and I'm surrounded by them. Multiply that by 100 when I'm sick (I'm still only about 90% WITH the frickin baby toe on the mend - I broke it on my birthday, and although I wish I had some crazy story about a bunch of us getting together and doing something dumb, the truth of the matter is nope. I came home, tucked a kid into bed, turned to tuck in another and WHAM, cracked that sucker off the corner of the bed...it hurt like a...)

SO I disappeared off the planet for a week. No one noticed so really, I can't call it a disappearance at all!

Before I go off on a much needed tangent about some events and people, I'm going to go pretend that I do not have to get off the couch in just over an hour to pick up the one kid that has avoided all this illness so far. I say so far because although she is a rockstar, whenever I say never, it ALWAYS ENDS UP HAPPENING!!!

Play nice!
